Our volunteer surveyors were up to the task again. The survey is complete! Last year's treatment was about 90 percent effective as hoped. There are a few new sprouts in areas that did not have phragmites last year, some sprouts around the edges of stands treated last year and several stands that were missed last year.
Our immediate focus is now obtaining signed permission slips from owners with phragmites. There are over 50 people we need to get permission from!! Click here to see a list of owners from whom we need permission. Please check this list and if your name is there, note your Phrag ID#, then click here to print out a permission slip to sign and return to us.

News and Notes from the Lake

If you were hoping the winter snow and spring rains were going to bring Charlevoix's water level back toward normal, you are likely to be disappointed again this year. The Army Corps of Engineers, which is charged with forecasting these levels, now figures the level will most likely be 7 inches lower this summer than it was last summer and 13 inches below the long-term average.
